Common Causes of Orthodontic Treatment

These disorders typically require orthodontic treatment:
-Crossbite: Crossbite occurs when the upper pearly whites don’t rest in front of the lower teeth, typically due to a narrow upper jaw. -Crowding: Crowding occurs when too many chompers make it impossible for the oral ridge to quarter appropriately. -Misplaced midline: A misplaced midline occurs when the center of the upper front chompers doesn’t align with the middle of the lower front chompers. -Open bite: Open bites are when there is a space between resting biting surfaces of the pearly whites. -Overbite: Overbite, also known as “buck chompers,” is an ailment where the upper incisors stick out past the lower teeth. -Spacing problems: Gaps, slits, and spaces between teeth can develop cosmetic problems and oral health problems. -Underbite: Underbites occur when the upper teeth are too far behind the lower teeth, developing the bite misaligned.
