What Can I Expect at My Child’s First Orthodontic Appointment?

If your child has their first orthodontic appointment coming up, then you’re likely wondering what will happen at the office. You’re like many parents who wish to prepare for the appointment and know what to expect. Our orthodontist, Dr. Catherine, is more than happy to help you. When you come to A Winning Smile Orthodontics, you and your child can expect the following things:

-Our orthodontic team will introduce ourselves and give you a tour of the office. This can help you and your child feel comfortable and at ease.

-We will guide you and your child into the examination area where your child will sit or lie in a comfortable orthodontic chair.

-Our orthodontist will perform a thorough examination of the teeth, jaws and bite by taking X-rays and inspecting the mouth.

-Our orthodontist will determine the need for treatment. If treatment is needed, she will provide an accurate diagnosis and explain the problem.

-Our orthodontist will then explain the treatment options that can help your child. You and your child will choose the treatment you desire.

-After a treatment is chosen and your insurance information has been given to our office staff, our orthodontist will create a customized treatment plan for your child.

-You will lastly schedule the next appointment that will involve starting the treatment.
